Congratulations Supercomputing Challenge winners

Eli Echt-Wilson and Albert Zuo, La Cueva High School team 58, 1st place, Cole Kendrick, Los Alamos High School team 66, was 2nd place and Ian Rankin, Ahmed Muhyi and Sophia Sanchez-Maes a trio from Las Cruces YWiC (Young Women in Computing), team 60 were 3rd place, but view the Awards Ceremony Presentation of ALL the winners and a text file of all the WINNERS of the 2013-2014 Supercomputing Challenge and see all the publicity about the event and see the pictures of the Expo and the Awards Ceremony.

Congratulations to the Finalist Teams

Team 5 from Albuquerque Academy, team 58 from La Cueva High, team 60 from Las Cruces YWiC, teams 63 and 66 from Los Alamos High, and team 101 from the New Mexico School for the Arts.

70 Final reports were submitted

Tours of Sandia Laboratories and University of New Mexico took place on March 3rd.

February Project Evaluations

The Project Evaluations will be held during February and into March. They went off very well with 87 teams presenting their work at nine different locations. Public speaking, presentation skills and presenting results are just some of the skills developed in the Supercomputing Challenge.

Interim Reports were due December 10.

100 teams have submitted Interims.

Dec 9-15 was Computer Science Education Week

The Kickoff Conference was held on Oct 12-13, in Socorro, New Mexico.

Over 445 students and 67 teachers from 57 schools have registered for the 2013-2014 Supercomputing Challenge.
